The Short Version
Some links on this site earn us a commission. You never pay more because of it, and it never changes what a review says.
Where It Applies
House plan reviews link to the plan on the publisher's own site, most often Architectural Designs, through the Commission Junction affiliate network. If you follow one of those links and buy a plan, we receive a percentage of the sale from the publisher. The price you pay is the publisher's normal price; the commission comes out of their margin, not your pocket.
Some room guides name a product or a brand line. Unless the link is labelled as an affiliate link, we earn nothing from it and it is there because it is the right specification.
How These Links Are Marked

- The link itself carries
rel="sponsored", the attribute search engines use to identify paid links. - This page is linked from the footer of every page on the site.
What the Commission Does Not Buy
A plan publisher cannot pay to be reviewed, to be reviewed favourably, or to have a criticism removed. We review plans we find worth writing about, we say when a plan is weak, and several reviews on this site end with a recommendation not to build the plan as drawn. No publisher sees an article before it goes live.
We are not paid per click, and the amount a plan earns plays no part in whether it is covered. If that ever changed, this page would change with it.
Advertising Is Separate
Display advertising on this site is sold programmatically by advertising networks. Those advertisers have no relationship with our editorial team, no advance sight of articles and no influence over them. How advertising cookies work is set out in the cookie policy.

Plan prices, options and availability are set by the publisher and change without notice. Always confirm the current price, the included package and the licence terms on the publisher's own page before you buy. We are not the seller and cannot help with orders, downloads, refunds or licence questions; those go to the publisher.
